The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine discussed with the head of the Bureau of Energy Resources of the US Department of State the possibility of creating a renewable energy park in the exclusion zone. According to the Government portal, the head of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ostap Semerak together with Amos Hochstein, coordinator for international energy issues, head of the Bureau of Energy Resources at the US State Department, considered the possibility of creating a “solar” park in the exclusion zone. Ostap Semerak noted that American investors are very interested in the emergence of such parks in Chernobyl. The Minister also called the American side a strategic partner in ensuring Ukraine’s energy independence from the “Russian measure”. It will be recalled that the Ukrainian delegation headed by Semerak was in America on September 14-16 and took part in the international conference “One Ocean. One Future”. Ukrainian officials went to the US conference at the invitation of US Secretary of State J. Kerry.
